We have decades of experience in the publishing industry amongst us.
Maureen serves as the head of group for Como Sales and the main point of contact. Working at a Waldenbooks while in college sparked her love for bookselling and publishing. She went on to graduate from the NYU Center for Publishing in New York and worked at Simon & Schuster for four years before taking a position at Workman Publishing in the
special markets department. After a brief stint at Barefoot Books in Cambridge, she joined Como Sales in 2012. A New Englander at heart, her territory includes Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Connecticut and Florida thrown in there ( a New Englander has to winter somewhere). Like many reps, Frazer Dobson started off working in a bookstore. He became a bookseller in 1993, working for Chapter 11 Bookstore in Atlanta, a local chain. By 2001, he was the buyer for all the Chapter 11 bookstores, when he met his wife Sally Brewster, another bookseller, at SIBA in Fort Lauderdale in 2002. He left Chapter 11 right
before it went, well, Chapter 11, and moved to Charlotte, NC where he currently resides. He and Sally own Park Road Books in Charlotte; Sally runs the store while Frazer does the rep thing. Frazer has worked for Como Sales since September, 2008. His territory encompasses North and South Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, and Mississippi. Frazer was a Publishers Weekly Rep of the Year nominee in 2017!
The granddaughter of independent bookstore owners, Nissa's inevitable path to publishing started with a college internship at The Boston Book Festival, followed by a stint as a bookseller at Borders, and on to her first sales job at The Perseus Books Group. After Perseus, she moved to New York to
join the Workman family in the special sales department, falling in love with its amazing books and creative people. Now a nomadic citizen of the Mid-Atlantic region, Nissa is thrilled to be the next Workman vet to become a Como rep! Nissa was awarded the Kristin Keith Sales Rep of the Year award for the NAIBA region in 2021! Her territory includes NY, NJ, PA, MD, DC and DE.
